Drolma Kadampa Buddhist Center
Drolma Kadampa Buddhist Center was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso in 1997 as a non-profit organization and a member of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union. "Drolma" is the Tibetan word for "Tara", a popular female Buddha who embodies and grants fearlessness and quick wisdom.
Drolma Center is dedicated to helping people in Southeast Florida find peace in their busy lives. We offer Buddha's timeless teachings in a simple, practical manner that can help us solve our problems and find happiness within. The classes taught at the Center are suitable for all individuals whatever their level of interest, from those who seek simple relaxation to those who wish to find lasting inner peace and contentment through following the Buddhist path.
You do not need to be a Buddhist to attend the Center or to benefit from practices such as meditation. Everyone is welcome!
Drolma Buddhist Center offers a full schedule of meditation classes and chanted meditations (pujas) at the main Center in Fort Lauderdale, as well as branch classes in Miami, South Beach, Boca Raton, and North Palm Beach.
Our main center is easy to get to and offers a beautiful quiet meditation room that can seat over 100. We also have a fully-stocked bookstore, including audio books, artwork, gift ideas, and a range of exquisitely-crafted Buddhist statues from Nepal. We also have a spacious yard that is increasingly colorful and secluded (gardeners welcome!), and has a Bodhi Tree (tree of enlightenment).
This new location enables the Center to offer a wide-ranging program of meditation classes, silent meditation, pujas (chanted prayers), retreats, and day courses. Please feel most welcome to join us!
